Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), Phoenix, AZ, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended March 28 of $6.7 billion, a 0.8 percent increase year-over-year. Profit for the quarter increased 6.7 percent to $121.5 million.

Electronics marketing sales for the fiscal third quarter were $4.2 billion, up 2.1 percent year-over-year. Technology solutions sales for the fiscal third quarter were down 1.3 percent to $2.5 billion.

Year-to-date sales were $21.1 billion, up 3.3 percent over the same period the previous year. Year-to-date profit increased 15 percent to $413.2 million.
