Wesco International announced Sept. 7 it has entered an agreement to acquire Rahi Systems Holdings, Inc. (Fremont, California) for $217 million. The purchase price represents approximately 7.5 times Rahi’s projected trailing 12 months adjusted EBITDA, according to a news release.
Based in California’s Bay Area, Rahi Systems is a global information technology solutions provider with more than 40 offices and 900 employees across 25 countries. Rahi will join Wesco’s Communication and Security Solutions strategic business unit.
“This acquisition strengthens our leading data center solution offerings for our global customers,” Wesco President and CEO John Engel said. “Rahi’s extensive services portfolio serving the leading global hyperscale data center providers expands the cross-sell opportunities across our company.”
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Wesco is a distributor of electrical, communications, security, utility and broadband services with 18,000 employees at approximately 800 locations in more than 50 countries. Wesco was ranked in several categories in Modern Distribution Management’s 2022 Top Distributor list, including No. 1 for Electrical, Data & Security Distributors, No. 8 among MRO Distributors and as the No. 18 industrial distributor.
