WESCO International Inc. (NYSE: WCC), Pittsburgh, PA, reported sales for the third quarter of $1.9 billion, down 3.6 percent compared to the same period the previous year. The company reported a loss for the quarter of $31.6 million, compared to a profit of $63.5 million the prior year.
Acquisitions had a 2.9 percent positive impact on sales and were partially offset by a 0.3 percent impact from foreign exchange rates, resulting in a 6.2 percent decrease in normalized organic sales.
For the first nine months, WESCO reported sales of $5.5 billion, down 2 percent from the same period a year ago. Profit declined 66.6 percent to $54.2 million.
