WD-40 Company (Nasdaq: WDFC), San Diego, CA, reported sales for the second quarter ended Feb. 28 of $97.3 million, a 3.3 percent increase from the same period a year ago. Profit increased 9.8 percent to $11.3 million.
Second-quarter multi-purpose maintenance products sales, which include the WD-40 and 3-IN-ONE brands, were $85.6 million, up 3 percent from the prior year.
Homecare and cleaning products sales, which include all other brands, were $10.7 million for the second quarter, up 3 percent compared to a year ago.
Americas segment sales in the second quarter were $44.7 million, down 1 percent compared to the second quarter of the prior fiscal year. The Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEA) segment sales were $38.7 million, up 1 percent year-over-year. Asia-Pacific segment sales were $14 million for the quarter, up 28 percent.
For the first six months, WD-40 sales were $193.7 million, up 2.1 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit increased 1.5 percent to $22.1 million.
