WD-40 Company (Nasdaq: WDFC), San Diego, CA, reported sales for the second quarter ended Feb. 29 of $94.6 million, a 3 percent decrease from the same period a year ago. Profit increased 21 percent to $13.7 million.
Second-quarter multi-purpose maintenance products sales, which include the WD-40 and 3-IN-ONE brands, were $84.6 million, down 2 percent from the prior year.
Homecare and cleaning products sales, which include all other brands, were $9.9 million for the second quarter, down 8 percent compared to a year ago.
Americas segment sales in the second quarter were $45.5 million, up 2 percent compared to the second quarter of the prior fiscal year. The Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEA) segment sales were down 8 percent year-over-year to $35.6 million, and Asia-Pacific segment sales were down 4 percent to $13.4 million for the quarter.
For the first six months, WD-40 sales were $187.1 million, down 3 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit increased 16 percent to $25.7 million.
