WD-40 Company (NASDAQ: WDFC), San Diego, CA, reported sales for the fiscal year ended Aug. 31 of $378.2 million, a year-over-year decrease of 1 percent. Profit grew 2 percent to $44.8 million.
"Fiscal year 2015 was a year of solid operating performance that was obscured by the impacts of political events, economic instability, a strong U.S. dollar and a particularly weak euro against the pound sterling," said Garry Ridge, president and CEO.
For the fourth quarter, sales were $92 million, down 6 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 2 percent to $11.7 million.
Fourth quarter maintenance products sales, which include the WD-40 and 3-IN-ONE brands, were $80.3 million, down 6 percent from the prior year.
Homecare and cleaning products sales, which include all other brands, were $11.7 million for the fourth quarter, down 6 percent year-over-year.
Americas segment sales in the fourth quarter were up 4 percent to $48.1 million compared to the prior year quarter. The Europe, Middle East, Africa and India segment sales were $33.2 million, down 17 percent, and Asia-Pacific segment sales were $10.6 million, down 5 percent year-over-year.
