Sonepar Expands in Czech Republic and Malaysia

Two additions expected to strengthen Sonepars electrical distribution network.

France-based electrical distributor Sonepar has expanded its presence in Czech Republic and Malaysia.

Sonepar Asia-Pacific entered into a majority partnership with Sun Power, a specialized distributor of electrical protection equipment to the construction industry in Malaysia. Sun Power has annual sales of €16 million (US$21.7 million).

Sonepar also acquired VaP, a company providing cable, installation and industrial materials as well as lighting products mainly to installers, industry and utilities in Czech Republic. It has annual sales of €11 million (US$14.9 million). This acquisition includes four VaP branches in the southern part of the country.
