Snap-on Inc. (NYSE: SNA), Kenosha, WI, reported first-quarter sales of $887.1 million, an increase of 6.3 percent compared to the same period a year earlier. Profit increased 10.4 percent to $141.6 million.
Commercial and industrial group segment sales of $298.7 million in the quarter increased 4.1 percent from the first quarter a year ago. Snap-on Tools Group segment sales of $409.4 million rose 1.7 percent. And repair systems and information group segment sales of $318.8 million increased 14.3 percent.
