Snap-on Inc. (NYSE: SNA), Kenosha, WI, reported sales for the second quarter of $954.6 million, an increase of 3.6 percent from the prior year. Organic sales increased 1.3 percent. Profit increased 16.6 percent to $178.7 million.
Commercial and industrial group segment sales of $337.8 million in the quarter increased 9 percent from 2017. Snap-on tools group segment sales of $411.9 million declined 0.5 percent, and repair systems and information group segment sales of $343.1 million increased 1.5 percent from 2017.
For the first six months, sales were $1.9 billion, up 4.5 percent over the prior-year period. Profit increased 15.9 percent to $341.7 million.
