Snap-on Inc. (NYSE: SNA), Kenosha, WI, reported sales for the second quarter of $872.3 million, an increase of 2.4 percent from the prior year. Organic sales increased 2.9 percent. Profit increased 16.8 percent to $140.1 million.
Commercial and industrial group segment sales of $285.7 million in the quarter decreased 3.4 percent from 2015. Snap-on Tools Group segment sales of $416.7 million rose 4.5 percent, and repair systems and information group segment sales of $295.2 million increased 6.4 percent from 2015.
For the first six months, sales were $1.7 billion, up 1.6 percent over the prior-year period. Profit increased 16.4 percent to $268.4 million.
