Snap-on Inc. (NYSE: SNA), Kenosha, WI, reported sales for the third quarter of $834.1 million, an increase of 1.5 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 12.8 percent to $131.7 million.
Commercial and industrial group segment sales of $289.3 million in the quarter increased 0.3 percent from 2015. Snap-on tools group segment sales of $397.2 million rose 4.4 percent, and repair systems and information group segment sales of $286.1 million increased 1.1 percent from 2015.
For the first nine months, sales were $2.5 billion, up 1.6 percent over the prior-year period. Profit increased 15.2 percent to $400.1 million.
