Snap-on Inc. (NYSE: SNA), Kenosha, Wisconsin, reported first-quarter sales of $921.7 million, a decrease of 1.5% compared to the same period a year earlier. Profit increased 9.1% to $177.9 million.
Commercial and industrial group segment sales of $322.5 million in the quarter decreased 2.7% from the first quarter a year ago. Snap-on Tools Group segment sales of $410.2 million rose 1.4%. And repair systems and information group segment sales of $327.9 million decreased 2.7%.
