Praxair Inc. (NYSE: PX), Danbury, CT, reported second-quarter sales of $3.1 billion, up 8 percent compared to the second quarter of 2017. The company reported $480 million in profit.
The company said its sales increase was driven by 2 percent higher pricing and 5 percent volume growth across all business segments.
Praxair also said it made progress during the quarter on its proposed merger with German industrial gases group Linde AG. This includes the sale of the majority of Praxair’s European business.
