Owens & Minor Inc. (NYSE: OMI), Richmond, VA, reported third quarter sales of $2.5 billion, up 3.6 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit was $28.2 million, compared to year-ago profit of $7.2 million.
Domestic segment sales increased 4.7 percent to $2.4 billion, while international segment sales declined 16.4 percent to $104 million.
For the nine months ended Sept. 30, sales were $7.3 billion, an increase of 4.5 percent when compared to the prior year. Profit increased 35.9 percent to $71.3 million.
