Myers Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MYE), Akron, OH, reported full year sales for 2013 of $825.2 million, an increase of 4.3 percent from 2012. Profit decreased 13.2 percent to $26 million.
Fourth quarter sales were $211.3 million, a decrease of 1.3 percent from the same period the previous year. Profit decreased to $3.3 million from $8.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2012.
2013 sales in the material handling segment were up 12.9 percent, primarily due to the acquisitions of Novel and Jamco.
Sales for the lawn and garden segment were effectively unchanged for 2013.
Distribution segment sales were up slightly to $177.4 million, while engineered products sales were down 2.8 percent.
