Myers Industries Inc. (NYSE: MYE), Akron, OH, reported sales for the first quarter of $141.7 million, down 6.3 percent year-over-year. The company reported a profit of $3.1 million for the quarter, up from a loss of $3.4 million a year ago.
Material handling segment sales for the quarter were down 5.4 percent year-over-year to $103.1 million and distribution segment sales were down 8.6 percent to $38.5 million.
