HVAC distributor Munch’s Supply Co. Inc., New Lenox, IL, has agreed to become the exclusive distributor for Trane and American Standard Heating and Air Conditioning, both brands of Ingersoll Rand (NYSE: IR), in the lower peninsula of Michigan. Munch's supply assumed operations at Trane’s pre-existing locations in Brighton, Grand Rapids and Madison Heights on Sept. 1 and plans are in place to add a second Detroit-area location in 2016.
“We believe the Munch’s Supply business model is well-suited to strengthen and grow our operations in Michigan and exceed the expectations of our valued dealers in the market,” said Gary Michel, senior vice president and president, residential HVAC, Ingersoll Rand.
Starting Jan. 1, 2016, Munch’s Supply will roll out a full-service distribution model for Michigan dealers. In the coming months, Munch’s Supply plans to add several dozen employees to the existing Michigan team to support its new market.
