Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR), Swords, Ireland, reported first-quarter sales of $799.9 million, a 29% increase compared to the same period a year ago, mostly due to the acquisition of Ingersoll-Rand plc’s Industrial segment by Gardner Denver Holdings, Inc. in February of 2020. The company reported a loss of $36.8 million, compared to a profit of $47.1 million the previous year.
