Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR), Swords, Ireland, reported sales for 2017 of $14.2 billion, a 5.2 percent increase from the previous year. Profit decreased 11.8 percent to $1.3 billion.
Sales for the fourth quarter were $3.6 billion, a 7.7 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit was $459.9 million compared to $198.8 million in the previous fourth quarter.
Industrial segment sales were $857.9 million, up 7.2 percent from the same quarter a year ago.
Climate segment sales were $2.8 billion for the fourth quarter, an increase of 7.9 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
