Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR), Swords, Ireland, reported sales for the third quarter of $3.5 billion, a 3 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit rose 3.3 percent to $300.9 million.
Industrial technologies sales were $729 million, a 2 percent decrease from the same quarter a year ago.
Climate solutions sales were $2.8 billion for the third quarter, an increase of 4 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
For the first nine months, sales were $10 billion, a 3.4 percent increase over the same period one year ago. Profit rose 36.2 percent to $431.1 million.
