Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR), Swords, Ireland, reported sales for 2016 of $13.5 billion, a 2 percent increase from the previous year. Profit increased to $1.5 billion, compared to $664.6 million the prior year.
Sales for the fourth quarter were $3.4 billion, a 2 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit decreased 14.9 percent to $198.8 million from the previous fourth quarter.
Industrial segment sales were $800 million, down 4 percent from the same quarter a year ago.
Climate segment sales were $2.6 billion for the fourth quarter, an increase of 3 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
