Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE: IR), Swords, Ireland, reported sales for the third quarter of $3.6 billion, a 2.3 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit rose 25.4 percent to $377.4 million.
Industrial technologies sales were $730 million, flat from the same quarter a year ago.
Climate solutions sales were $2.8 billion for the third quarter, an increase of 3 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
For the first nine months, sales were $10.2 billion, a 1.8 percent increase over the same period one year ago. Profit nearly tripled to $1.3 billion.
