Hubbell Inc. (NYSE: HUBA, HUBB), Shelton, CT, reported second-quarter sales of $1.17 billion, an increase of 23% compared to the second quarter of 2017. Net income was $100 million compared with $79 million in the year-ago period.
For the first six months of 2018, Hubbell’s net sales were $2.16 billion, an increase of 20% compared to the $1.8 billion reported in the second quarter of 2017. Net income for the first six months of the year was $159 million compared to $142 million in the year-ago period.
Hubbell attributed the quarter’s performance to strong markets, higher price realization, its focus on cash flow, and the integration of its recent acquisition of Aclara Technologies, which provides smart infrastructure solutions to water, gas and electric utilities globally.
