Hexcel Corp. (NYSE: HXL), Stamford, CT, reported sales for the second quarter of $522.6 million, a 9.9 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 7.1 percent to $66.1 million.
For the first six months, sales were $1 billion, up 7.7 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit decreased 5.9 percent to $122.1 million.
Industrial sales were $72.3 million for the second quarter, up 14.8 percent year-over-year.
Commercial aerospace sales of $368.5 million increased 13.5 percent for the quarter and space and defense sales of $81.8 million decreased 7 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
