Hexcel Corp. (NYSE: HXL), Stamford, CT, reported sales for the second quarter of $470.1 million, an 11.2 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 4.3 percent to $50.6 million.
For the first six months, sales were $931.8 million, up 11 percent over the same period one year ago.
Industrial sales were $69.8 million for the second quarter of 2014, up 24.9 over the second quarter of 2013.
Commercial aerospace sales of $308.2 million increased 14.1 percent for the quarter over the second quarter of 2013.
Space and defense sales of $92.1 million decreased 4.8 percent for the quarter as compared to second quarter of 2013.
“Based on our customers’ forecasted buildrates, we remain on-track to achieve our mid-term goal of $2.5 billion in sales by the end of 2017,” said Nick Stanage, CEO & president.
