Hexcel Corp. (NYSE: HXL), Stamford, CT, reported sales for the second quarter of $475.7 million, a 1.2 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 21.9 percent to $61.7 million.
For the first six months, sales were $947.5 million, up 1.7 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 28.9 percent to $129.8 million.
Industrial sales were $63 million for the second quarter, down 9.7 percent year-over-year.
Commercial aerospace sales of $324.7 million increased 5.4 percent for the quarter and space and defense sales of $88 million decreased 4.5 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
