St. Louis, MO-based Graybar reported sales for the third quarter of $1.7 billion, up 6.7 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit increased 6.4 percent to $30.1 million.
For the first nine months of the year, sales were $4.8 billion, a 5.2 percent increase from the same period last year. Profit decreased 7.5 percent to $71 million.
"Our strong performance for the quarter and the first nine months of the year is a result of our sustained focus on achieving profitable growth and strengthening our position in the supply chain,” said Kathleen M. Mazzarella, president and CEO. "We are also excited about our acquisition of Cape Electrical Supply in July and will continue to explore potential acquisitions and new opportunities to drive our long-term success."
