General Cable Corp. (NYSE: BGC), Highland Heights, KY, reported sales for 2017 of $3.8 billion, a decrease of 0.5 percent from 2016. The company reported a loss of $56.6 million in 2017, compared to a loss of $93.8 million in the previous year.
Fourth-quarter sales were $981.9 million, an increase of 8 percent year-over-year. The company reported a profit of $16 million, compared to a loss of $104.6 million from the same period a year ago.
