General Cable Corp. (NYSE: BGC), Highland Heights, KY, reported sales for the third quarter of $924.5 million, a year-over-year decline of 15.7 percent. The manufacturer reported a loss of $14.3 million, compared to year-ago loss of $29 million.
For the nine months, sales were $2.9 billion, a year-over-year decline of 17.2 percent. The company reported a profit of $10.8 million for the period, compared to a year-ago loss of $74 million.
