Encore Wire Corp. (NASDAQ Global Select: WIRE), McKinney, TX, reported sales for the first quarter of $225.5 million, a 9.9 percent decrease year-over-year. Profit for the quarter decreased 20.3 percent to $8.6 million.
Copper unit volume, measured in pounds of copper contained in the wire sold, increased 5.2% in the first quarter of 2015 versus the first quarter of 2015.
