Danaher Corp. (NYSE: DHR), Washington, DC, has agreed to sell its communications business to NetScout Systems Inc. for $2.6 billion.
Danaher's communications business includes Tektronix Communications, Fluke Networks and Arbor Networks, which will be spun off or split off and merged into NetScout, creating a global cybersecurity and IT management company.
Danaher's communications business, excluding Fluke Networks assets, generated approximately $836 million in revenue the fiscal year ended December 2013. NetScout generated approximately $397 million in revenue for their fiscal year ended March 2014.
