Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing group, has made four acquisitions – one in Turkey, two in Canada and one in the Netherlands. Terms were not disclosed.
Bunzl agreed to acquire Istanbul Ticaret Hirdavat Sanayi AS and its related company Istanbul Ticaret Ìs Guvenligi ve Endüstriyel Ürünler Sanayi AS. Based in Istanbul, Turkey, the business sells a variety of personal protection equipment to both end users and other distributors throughout Turkey. Revenue last was TRY94 million (US$34.5 million).
Bunzl also acquired two businesses in Quebec, Canada. Emballages Maska Inc. sells cleaning and hygiene supplies to other distributors throughout Quebec and Eastern Ontario. Revenue for the most recent fiscal year was C$33.1 million (US$26.7 million). And Prescott S.M. Inc. distributes cleaning and hygiene products to end users in the construction, property management and healthcare sectors, as well as to some distributors, throughout the Montreal area. Revenue for the most recent fiscal year was C$15.9 million (US$12.8 million).
And Bunzl purchased Janssen Packaging, Waalwijk, Netherlands, a distributor of packaging materials for the e-commerce, fashion and fulfilment sectors in the Netherlands. Revenue in 2014 was €8.8 million (US$9.3 million).
Bunzl also reported that group revenue in the first quarter increased 6 percent compared to the same period last year principally due to underlying growth of approximately 2 percent and the positive impact from acquisitions.
