The Bossard Group, Switzerland, reported sales for 2014 of CHF 617.8 million (US$640.6 million), a 2 percent increase compared with 2013. As reported in local currencies, sales grew 3.1 percent. Profit was CHF 57.1 million (US$59.2 million), up 2 percent from 2013.
In Europe, 2014 sales rose 3.5 percent to CHF 394.7 million (US$409.3 million), up 4.4 percent in local currency. In Asia, sales rose 12.3 percent to CHF 101.1 million (US$104.8 million), up 14.7 percent in local currency.
But in America, sales declined 9.2 percent to CHF 122 million (US$126.5 million), down 8 percent in local currency. This revenue decline is due primarily to weaker demand from a major customer.
In the fourth quarter, group sales increased 1.4 percent (but declined 0.1 percent in local currencies) to CHF 147.8 million (US$153.3 million).
