The Bossard Group, Switzerland, reported group sales for 2014 of CHF 621.3 million (US$609.3 million), an increase of 1.9 percent year-over-year. As reported in local currencies, sales grew 3.1 percent.
In Europe, 2014 sales rose 3.5 percent to CHF 398.1 million (US$390.4 million), up 4.4 percent in local currency.
In Asia, sales rose 11.6 percent to CHF 100.9 million (US$99 million), up 14 percent in local currency. Growth in Asia is largely the result of improvement in India.
But in America, sales declined 9.1 percent to CHF 122.3 million (US$119.9 million), down 8 percent in local currency. This revenue decline is due primarily to weaker demand from a major customer.
In the fourth quarter, group sales increased 1.4 percent (but declined 0.1 percent in local currencies) to CHF 147.8 million (US$145 million).
