Border States Electric, Fargo, ND, No. 8 on MDM’s Top 25 Electrical Distributors, has agreed to purchase Western Extralite, an electrical wholesale supply company in the Midwest. Western Extralite is planned to join Border States on October 1.

Western Extralite has more than 250 employees and 19 locations in Kansas and Missouri. The acquisition is part of a three-year succession plan strategy to transition Western Extralite to an employee-owned company. The current owners, John and Tom Isenberg, will continue to work at the company.

BSE will also relocate its south central regional office from Lubbock, TX, to Kansas City, MO.

BSE supplies products and services to construction, industrial and utility customers. BSE will have more than 1,900 employees and 82 branches in 16 states after Western Extralite joins BSE.
