Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), Phoenix, AZ, reported sales for the fiscal second quarter of $7.6 billion, a 1.8 percent increase year-over-year. Profit for the quarter increased 31.1 percent to $163.7 million.
Electronics marketing sales for the fiscal second quarter were $4.4 billion, up 6.8 percent year-over-year. Technology solutions sales for the quarter were down 4.6 percent to $3.1 billion.
Year-to-date sales were $14.4 billion, up 3.6 percent from $13.9 billion for the same period a year ago.
