Swedish manufacturer Atlas Copco (STO: ATCOA, ATCOB), reported sales for the first quarter of SEK 24.8 billion (US$2.9 billion), a 15.5 percent increase year-over-year. Currency and acquisitions contributed with 15 percent and 3 percent, respectively, while organic sales decreased 2 percent.
Profit for the quarter increased 17 percent to SEK 3.2 billion (US$0.4 billion).
In March, Atlas Copco acquired Germany-based Kalibriercentrum Bayern, which had annual revenues of SEK 28 million (US$3.3 million) and specializes in calibration and related services.
