Electronics distributor Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW), Centennial, CO, reported first quarter sales of $5.7 billion, an increase of 5.2 percent from the previous year. Profit increased 7 percent to $113.7 million.

For the first quarter, global components sales increased 10.4 percent year-over-year to $4 billion, with sales in the Americas up 9 percent, sales in Europe up 5.7 percent and sales in Asia-Pacific up 16.9 percent.

For the first quarter, global enterprise computing solutions sales decreased 5 percent year-over-year to $1.7 billion, with sales in the Americas up 4.8 percent and sales in Europe up 6.6 percent.
