Electronics distributor Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW), Centennial, CO, reported first quarter sales of $6.9 billion, an increase of 20 percent from the previous year. Profit increased 21.9 percent to $139.1 million.

For the first quarter, global components sales increased 21.5 percent year-over-year to $4.9 billion, with sales in the Americas up 14.9 percent, sales in Europe up 32.2 percent and sales in Asia-Pacific up 20.2 percent.

For the first quarter, global enterprise computing solutions sales increased 16 percent year-over-year to $1.9 billion, with sales in the Americas up 9.2 percent and sales in Europe up 28.6 percent.
