Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW), Centennial, CO, reported sales for the second quarter of $6 billion, an increase of 2 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 8.4 percent to $134.3 million.
For the quarter, global components sales increased 4 percent year-over-year to $3.8 billion, with sales in the Americas flat, sales in Europe up 7 percent and sales in Asia-Pacific up 5 percent.
Global enterprise computing solutions sales were flat year-over-year at $2.1 billion, with sales in the Americas down 2 percent and sales in Europe up 6 percent.
"Our core businesses remain healthy, and we made significant progress in the quarter with respect to our digital transformation, expanding our cloud solutions, and capturing the opportunities afforded by IoT to sell the capabilities of our entire enterprise," said Michael Long, president and CEO.
Year-to-date sales were $11.4 billion, an increase of 6 percent over the prior-year period. Profit increased 4.6 percent to $240.5 million.
