Anixter International Inc. (NYSE: AXE), Glenview, IL, reported sales for 2018 of $8.4 billion, up 6.3 percent year-over-year. Profit was up 43.1 percent to $156.3 million.

For the fourth quarter, sales were $2.1 billion, up 5.2 percent over the year-ago quarter. Profit was $4.1 million, up from $0.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2017.

For the fourth quarter, network & security solutions sales of $1.1 billion increased 6.4 over the prior year; electrical & electronic solutions sales of $571.3 million decreased 1.8 percent compared to the prior-year period; and utility power solutions sales of $429.9 million increased 12.7 percent.
