AMETEK Inc. (NYSE: AME), Berwyn, PA, a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices, reported second-quarter sales of $1.21 billion, up 14 percent compared to the second quarter of 2017, with organic sales growth of 7 percent. The company reported net income of $194 million for the quarter.
Second-quarter sales in the company’s Electronic Instruments Group were $744.5 million, up 13 percent compared with the same quarter of 2017; sales in its Electromechanical Group were $464.5 million, up 14 percent compared to the second quarter of 2017.
AMETEK also completed the acquisition of Motec GmbH, a provider of integrated vision systems for the mobile machine vision market. The Germany-based company is now part of AMETEK’s Electronic Instruments Group.
