AMETEK Inc., Berwyn, Pennsylvania, a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices, reported sales for the first quarter of $1.2 billion, down 6.6% from the same period a year ago. Profit increased 37.4% to $280.6 million.
First quarter Electronic Instruments Group sales were $774.2 million, down 4% compared to the same period in 2019. Electromechanical Group sales in the first quarter were $428.0 million, down 11% compared to last year's first quarter.
