AMETEK Inc. (NYSE: AME) Berwyn, PA, has acquired Laserage Technology Corp., Waukegan, IL, a provider of laser fabrication services for the medical device market. Terms were not disclosed.

Laserage, with annual sales of $22 million, has manufacturing operations in Waukegan, IL, and Milipitas, CA. The company joins AMETEK as part of its electromechanical group.

AMETEK also reported sales for the third quarter of $945 million, down 5.4 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit decreased 16.4 percent to $130.7 million.

Year to date, the company reported sales of $2.9 billion, down 4 percent from the prior year. Profit decreased 11.2 percent to $403.1 million.
