AmerisourceBergen Corp. (NYSE: ABC), Valley Forge, PA, reported sales for the third quarter ended June 30 of $38.7 billion, up 4.9 percent from the same period a year ago. Profit decreased 85.6 percent to $50.4 million.
Pharmaceutical distribution sales were $37 billion, an increase of 4.7 percent compared to the same quarter the prior year.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were $114 billion, up 4.3 percent over the same period a year ago. The company reported a profit of $709.1 million, down 44.7 percent from the prior year.
