Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZ) said it plans to open new fulfillment centers in Greater Toronto, Ontario, and Spokane, WA.
The 1-million square-foot Toronto facility will be located in the town of Caledon, creating more than 800 full-time jobs, the company said. This will be Amazon's sixth fulfillment center in Ontario, where it employs more than 2,000 full-time associates, and its ninth facility in Canada.
The Spokane facility will be the company’s first fulfillment center in Eastern Washington, and will create more than 1,500 full-time jobs, the company said. Amazon employs more than 50,000 people across the state at its headquarters in Seattle and at facilities supporting customer fulfillment in DuPont, Kent and Sumner.
