Swedish manufacturer Alfa Laval reported sales for 2014 of SEK 35.1 billion (US$4.3 billion), up 18 percent over sales in 2013. Excluding the impact of currency exchange, sales increased 14 percent. Profit fell 2 percent to SEK 3 billion (US$365.7 million).
For the fourth quarter, sales were SEK 10.8 billion (US$1.3 billion), up 25 percent in a year-over-year comparison. Excluding currency exchange, sales were up 19 percent. Profit for the period grew 5 percent to SEK 911 million (US$111 million).
Order intake in North America in 2014 increased 18 percent year over year, while in South America fell 5 percent. In Western Europe, excluding the Nordics, order intake increased 11 percent. Nordics reported a decline of 2 percent, as did Central and Eastern Europe. Asia reported order intake increased 41 percent for the year.
