Air Products (NYSE:APD), Lehigh Valley, PA, reported sales of $2.2 billion for its fiscal second quarter ended March 31, an increase of 9 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit was $416 million, up 37 percent from the prior year.
By region, industrial gases sales in the Americas rose 3 percent to $913 million; EMEA sales increased 36 percent to $562 million; and sales in Asia rose 28 percent to $558 million.
The company also said it has agreed to acquire the largest carbon dioxide business in Continental Europe, ACP Europe SA.
