Pharmaceuticals, medical and laboratory products distributor Cardinal Health opened a new distribution center in Boylston, MA, to support its U.S. Medical products and Distribution business.
At approximately 317,000-square feet, the new facility replaces the Cardinal Health distribution center in Bedford, MA. The DC offers increased storage capacity and modernized operations for customers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont and Eastern Connecticut, along with specialized handling for sensitive products available by early 2025.
“This larger building situated in an ideal location strengthens our supply chain resiliency, providing a more predictable, timely and stable experience for our New England customers and their growing needs,” Cardinal Health VP of East Regional Operations Mike Zatlukal said in an Oct. 29 news release.
Cardinal Health recently opened a 310,000-square-foot replenishment center in Montgomery, NY. The company said the facility enhanced its inventory capabilities and enabled swift restocking across its distribution network.
The company also recently announced the opening of a 350,000-square-foot DC in Greenville, SC and a new DC in Walton Hills, OH, which is expected to be operational by the Spring of 2025.
Cardinal Health was No. 3 on MDM’s Top Distributor’s List for Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare.
