Power transmission/motion control distributor sales were down 3.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to the third quarter, according to the quarterly Sales History & Outlook Report from the Power Transmission Distributors Association.
Leading indicators for PT/MC products suggest sales will rise through 2017 and 2018 before declining in 2019 as the macro-economy heads into a mild recession. The 4Q2016 SHOR, which also includes manufacturer sales, can be found at ptda.org/SHOR.
